Jorge E. Goyanes is a recently retired Florida business owner who spends his newfound spare time golfing, volunteering, and playing tennis. He picked up his first Sherlock Holmes book in elementary school and picked up his first wrench at 13-years-old when he got a job as a gofer at a neighborhood gas station.

Jorge has volunteered for the Red Cross, the Emergency Room at Broward Medical Center, Aspira of Palm Beach, HisPAC, the Palm Beach County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and currently volunteers at the local Cros Ministries food bank.

In 1993, after coming to the aid of a Kentucky Colonel and his wife who were stranded on the side of the highway, he was inducted into the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

Jorge currently pens "Car Clinic," a bimonthly car advice column for The Lake Worth Herald, and shares his vast knowledge about car maintenance and repair on his YouTube channel.

The first two installments of his Jose Castillo Mystery series, Miami Beat and Miami Moon, are hardboiled whodunits involving the exploits of private eye and classic car restorer Jose Castillo. Both titles can be found on Amazon, the Barnes and Noble website, and at local bookstores. The third book in the Jose Castillo Mystery series, Florida Crossing, is due out soon. Jorge is a member of the Mystery Writers of America (MWA).
